I know, I know, I know. I said I would write more often last time I posted one of these, and now you haven’t heard from us in 10 months. Well, we’re here now and I’m more than happy to tell you all about what’s been happening in our lives. So, first things first…
We Bought
a House!
It’s not just a song anymore. A few weeks after our last post, we closed on our very own home.
It’s been super exciting and certainly makes for losing track of time. The house is a lot of work (why are there so many lizards?), but we’re very happy. It even has a two-car garage that’s quite roomy. (Did someone say house concerts?) Speaking of concerts…
2021 Highlights
In August we played a fun show at Pete’s Candy Store sharing a bill with our pal Pete Mancini and Nick Russell. It was our first show performing songs from the upcoming EP which was a real fresh feeling. We followed that up with a house/barn show out east at the home of our friends The Belle Curves. The bill also featured super talented folks: Leland Sundries, Nico Padden, and Anne O’Rourke. We know so many incredible artists.
We also played our first NERFA showcase in November (since it was virtual), and then went into hibernation for the winter.
So What’s Next?
We are at the tail end of recording the new EP, “My Way in Manila”, and the release is scheduled for Aug./Sep. 2022. It will include 6 tracks of covers (mostly written by friends) and will feature performances e-mailed in by a stellar cast of musicians. We’re very excited about how it’s coming along and can’t wait to get a release date/show for you.
There are also some exciting shows coming up in the next few months. Kicking it off will be The Jalopy Theater for Roots & Ruckus on June 15th followed by Porch Stomp at Governor’s Island on the 18th. We then head to The Bronx for our first show at An Beal Bocht on June 30th, and afterwards join The Belle Curves at Pete’s Candy Store on July 21st.
We’ve also joined with Gruuv.co for the next level of livestreaming music. We will be doing a series of livestreams on their site where you will be able to access our performances from the comfort of your device. Our next livestream is on May 16th at 1pm. Don’t miss it!
We Can’t Wait To See You
I think that catches us all up. Again, sorry for the delay on updates. I promise to do better with these posts. In the meantime, we truly appreciate you following us and keeping up with our music and what’s going on. Until the new EP comes out, you can still enjoy our songs on all the streaming platforms as well as telling your friends about us.
